In 2008, by the power of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, a seven member commission was established in the township to execute the following charges as stated by law:

  • Take such action on petitions, staff proposals and township board requests for amendments to the zoning ordinance as required
  • Take such action on petitions, staff proposals and township board requests for amendments to the master land use plan as required.
  • Prepare an annual report to the township board.
  • Prepare an annual work program and suggested budget, to be included in the annual report.
  • Take such actions as are required by the Michigan Zoning Enabling Actor Michigan Planning Enabling Act, as amended.
