Due to the passage of the statewide ballot proposal 18-3, ALL eligible and registered voters in Michigan may now request an absent voter ballot without providing a reason.
Requests to have an absent voter ballot mailed to you must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the election.
Ballots may be requested in person at the Kalamazoo Township Clerk’s Department up until 4:00 p.m. the Monday before an election; however any ballots requested the Monday before the election must be voted at the Kalamazoo Township Hall.
Requesting a Ballot
You must request an absent voter ballot in writing by submitting the Absent Voter Ballot Application (Click Here), a letter, or a postcard to:

Requests may be returned by hand, via postal mail, fax, or email, as long as a signature is visible.
Instructions to Return a Ballot
After receiving your absent voter ballot, you have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to complete the ballot and return it to Kalamazoo Township. Prior to returning your ballot, make sure that you signed the outside of the envelope. Ballots cannot be given to anyone other than the voter. If you received assistance voting the ballot, then the signature of the person who helped you must also be on the return envelope.
Permanent Absent Voter Application List
The Kalamazoo Township Clerk's Office maintains a Permanent Absent Voter Application List. Voters on this list will automatically receive an application for all elections held in Kalamazoo Township. Voters must complete, sign, and return the application for every election in order for the absent voter ballot to be sent. An application must be received before a ballot can be mailed.
